Jagger at School Today

Today, Jagger had some visitors at his School.

Seems pretty cool huh? He didn't mention it at all when I asked him about his day. Does the "Hello son, what did you learn in school today?" Reply - "Uhh Nothin," start this early?!

If ever there was a day not to miss....this was the one!!!!

A Visit From Uncle Han

In between a few showings of his documentary, The Listening Project. Uncle Han stopped by last night for dinner and stayed the night with us. We had a lot of fun hanging out on the deck, drinking a few beers, and watching the Phillies/The Daily Show/Colbert. More importantly, he was able to stay long enough to watch the kids while I went to the dentist.
(I was told I need to floss)

Turns out, he is a great babysitters. Although, ever since...the kids seem more rebellious, they keep referring to Lindsay and I as "THE MAN" and they will only eat purely vegan dishes...It's weird. Despite all of that, we really enjoyed seeing Uncle Han.

See you soon...bro.

Here's a cool song. It's a cover of Free Fallin' done by John Mayer. Originally by Tom Petty.

B's First Day of School

B's teacher, Ms. Lisa, took a bunch of pictures of the children on their first day of school. Here are the one's that had the B-ster in them.

Heard this song by Kings of Leon for the first time this past weekend on Saturday Night Live. Great song! Check it out.

This is funny!

As I am sitting here preparing this post, Jagger says to me..."I don't like Barack Obama, he's boring. (I believe he heard his name spoken in the skit as I was watching it) I then asked him who he liked and he replied..."Speedracer."
Is that Ted Kennedy???

Below are a bunch of photos taken during the party.

Instead of sitting around watching TV and drinking frozen slushes, you can come out and watch your favorite family member play his guitar and sing. I picked this date specifically so you wouldn't have to make a special trip (up or down) to see me...you'll already be here!!!

PA BANS SMOKING!!! Kind of...

Thursday Pennsylvania FINALLY introduced a statewide Smoking Ban. Yeah!!! No more coming home from open mic night smelling like a smoke stack or burning red-eyes.

The only problem is that out of 24 other Statewide smoking bans, PA has the weakest with a ton of loop-holes. This has to be one of the BIG and BEST examples of how money and big business run the country.

Here is a snippet of the story from www.philly.com.

Pennsylvania's smoke-free workplace law goes into effect, banning smoking in most public places, including many bars, restaurants, taxi cabs, schools and government buildings.

However, the bill, known as the Clean Indoor Air Act, is loaded with exemptions, including bars in which food represents less than 20 percent of sales and portions of casino floors and private clubs. Also, the bill bars any municipality from enacting its own sanction.

Philadelphia's smoking ban, the only active one in the state, would not be affected.

The law, passed June 13, after months of debate, was deemed so weak that it failed to get the endorsement of smoking opponents who say it does not do enough to protect workers from second-hand smoke, which the U.S. Surgeon General has linked to cancer.

The bill has "too many exemptions and therefore creates too much confusion as to what is smoke-free and what isn't smoke-free," said Deborah Brown, spokeswoman for the American Lung Association of the Mid-Atlantic region. "We want to protect everyone from second-hand smoke."

The political compromise "sells out the health of hospitality industry workers," said Bronson Frick, associate director of Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights.

Of the 24 statewide smoking bans in the nation, Pennsylvania's is the weakest because of its many loopholes and the stricture on communities, including Allegheny County and the city of Scranton, that want to enact their own, tougher laws, opponents say.

"This only serves the interests of the tobacco industry. If the state isn't going to protect the health of workers, then cities and counties should be allowed to," Frick said.

Advocates of the measure say it's a good start, but could use some work.

I guess this just means YEAH!!! and BOOO!!! all at the same time.

First Day of School (Take 2)

B's first day was Wednesday! She did great. No crying or fussing. When we got there, she ran towards the toys and I ran out the door! I waited to see if she cried and she didn't. Way to go B-ster!

Jagger putting on his best fake smile!

They each came home with homework....in their pants!!!
That's funny!

First Day of School

Jagger at his first day of school. He had a great time.

B has her first day on Wednesday!!!

I was cleaning out my email...and came across this oldie but goodie passed on by Annie...

A woman was very distraught over the fact that she had not had a date or any sex for over 5 years. She was afraid she might have something wrong with her, so she decided to seek the medical expertise of the well known Chinese sex therapist, Dr.Chang. Upon entering the examination room, Dr. Chang said, "OK, take off all Your crose." The woman did as she was told. "Now, get down and craw reery, reery fass to odderside of room." Again, the woman did as she was instructed. Dr. Chang then said, "OK, now craw reery, reery fass back to me." As she did, Dr. Chang shook his head slowly. "Your probrem vewy bad. You haf Ed Zachary Disease. Worse case I ever see. Dat why you not haf sex or dates." The woman asked anxiously, "Oh my God, Dr. Chang, what is Ed Zachary Disease?"

Dr. Chang sighed deeply and replied, "Ed Zachary Disease is when your Face look Ed Zachary like your ass."

Happy Grand-Parents Day!

Yeah, apparently Hallmark made it a day! (It was yesterday.) Jagger, B and I went to Grandma and Pop-Pop's house for dinner. We played baseball and had a picnic on the deck.

Here are some pics...

Happy Grand-Parents Day to Suzy and Ray (Nana and Grandad) as well.

Editor's Note: I just gave my card (and this blog address) to the mother of one of my guitar students. I just noticed that I had on the same clothes yesterday as I did at our guitar lesson today. Whoops!!! It was a busy day, plus it's a really nice outfit. I am putting it in the hamper right now. Good night.

My Favorite Show!

Okay folks, My favorite show is "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central.

This is the best clip from that show. If you are not familiar with The Daily Show, it essentially reports on and makes fun of the news coverage of politics. Right now they are in Minnesota for the Republican Convention. You can not watch this and not laugh your ass off. At least not the beginning...the end is serious. It is well worth the 5-6 minutes of your time.
